A Growing Tradition

The award-winning festival has grown from a one-day event to taking over a whole weekend. With a turnout in the thousands, it is now the largest Eid celebration in the South East. This summer, the festival is back from 1pm – 9pm on Saturday, 13 July, and from 1pm – 8pm on Sunday, 14 July. Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities.

An Inclusive Celebration

“The event itself blends joy, happiness, and sharing with a combination of games and activities, funfair, and a diverse range of food from all cultures,” said the organisers. “It represents the diversity of the community within Bedford and Kempston and each year it makes a memorable celebration.”

Fostering Community Spirit

Since its humble beginnings, Eid In Bedford has created an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone by bringing thousands together to enjoy the celebrations. The festival embodies the spirit of unity and the importance of community, transcending cultural and religious boundaries.

Supporting the SEND Community

In 2022, Bedford became the first town in the UK to cater specifically for the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) community by opening the Eid Festival grounds earlier for those with special needs. Ensuring minimal footfall and noise during this period allows visitors to enjoy the event without disruption. You can register for SEND admission from 11am – 1pm on Sunday by completing a form on the Eid in Bedford website here.
