Hope for Improvements for North Bedford GP Patients as De Parys Group Moves
There are hopes of a boost to GP services in North Bedford thanks to a move that will see services provided at a new purpose-designed building with additional capacity, letting local NHS services continue to improve access to a range of appointments.
Enhanced Facility Brings Optimism
Cllr Martin Towler (Conservative, Risely), Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods and Communities: Health and Wellbeing said: “This move will benefit patients, whilst ensuring trainee and student GPs, nurses, clinical pharmacists, nurse associates and health care assistants are retained for the population of Bedford Borough.”
Transition to Enhanced Service Centre
This is the first part of The De Parys Group (TDPG), one of the largest GP practices in the region, moving their services to the Enhanced Service Centre.
In November, the Pemberley Avenue and two Goldington Road surgeries will also move to the enhanced service centre.
The exact date of the move will be confirmed closer to the time through the practice and we’re told that patients will receive updated communication from the practice ahead of the November relocation.
Continuity of Services
No changes are planned to the services delivered from TDPG branch sites in Bromham and Church Lane, and there will be no change in the way patients book appointments as a result of this move.
What Patients Need to Know
Patients are also not required to take any action or contact the surgery regarding the move at this stage.
